Community Outreach Manager (Dunmore/Scranton,PA Area)

You will manage the community outreach efforts on behalf of a large-scale construction project.  The project spans several communities (about 100 miles) in the PA area with an office in Dunmore. You will be responsible for effectively notifying and detailing construction activities to abutters in advance of work occurring and addressing concerns raised by communities and abutters along the project route.  The candidate would be responsible for face-to-face meetings with abutters, hand-delivering notices in advance of work, responding to issues and conflicts as they arise, and documenting all efforts and correspondences.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong written and verbal communi-cation skills as well as solid presentation and document organization skills.  The candidates would spend approximately 60% of their time out along the project route informing residents of upcoming work and working to achieve resolution with any conflicts that arise.  The other 40% of time would be spent documenting outreach, attending project meetings, presenting sensitivi-ties to crew members, and attending community meetings.  This is a good posi-tion for people that enjoy a mix of office and field work. Drivers license is a must.

Prior experience handling constituent services (campaign work or public of-fice) or public relations within the construction field is a plus. The candi-date should have 3-5 years of experience with proven experience in customer interaction, constituent services and solid issue/resolution skills.  The project is anticipated to last for approximately 2+ years and opportunities to grow with the company could exist after the project.

Uniformed Division Officer

United States Secret Service Uniformed Division (UD) officers provide protection for the White House Complex, the vice president's residence, the main Treasury Building and Annex, and foreign diplomatic missions and embassies in the Washington, D.C., area. Additionally, UD officers travel in support of the presidential, vice presidential and foreign heads of state/government missions. Uniformed Division officers are also responsible for the enforcement of mandated protective responsibilities as described under Title 3, United States Code, Section 202.


  • U.S. citizenship
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and younger than 40 at time of appointment
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent health and physical condition
  • Uncorrected vision no worse than 20/60 binocular; correctable to 20/20 in each eye. (NOTE: Lasik, ALK, RK and PRK corrective eye surgeries are acceptable eye surgeries for Uniformed Division applicants provided specific visual tests are passed. The following are the waiting periods before visual tests are conducted after the surgery: Lasik surgery – three months; PRK – six months; and ALK and RK – one year.)

Company Overview

The Schwan Food Company began in 1952 as a “one man and a truck” home delivery business in Marshall, MN. Marvin Schwan, a young

man whose parents operated a local dairy that was struggling to survive amid government dairy price controls, packed ice cream in dry ice,

loaded it into a road weary 1946 Dodge panel van and set out to visit rural customers in Southwestern Minnesota. By the end of the day, he

had sold all 14 gallons and formulated the business model that would grow his fl edgling company into a leader in the frozen food industry.
